LINKIN PARK! ; Tuesday, September 13, 2011
Yeah. I've been meaning to do a tribute post to them for such a long time.... But I've been too lazy. Anyways, I'm gonna do one now! :D
So yes, this is the band that am currently obsessed with.
Linkin Park.
They make such great music. It isn't your typical rock band though. I catch them often under the 'Alternative' genre because well... They aren't all and all rock. They've got some electro beats in there, and... God, you can't guess their music. Actually, in the beginning of their days, they were pure rock-and-nu-metal. I wasn't that interested in them. I only knew their title songs. And I will admit... Somehow I started liking them after they started growing beards.
#what
Shall I introduce them to you?
Left to right:
Rob Bourdon (drummer),
Dave 'Phoenix' Farrel (bassist),
Chester Bennington (vocalist),
Mike Shinoda (vocalist, rapper, guitarist, pianist......... meh ♥),
Joe Hahn (turntablist), and
Brad Delson (guitarist).
I'll make them each an individual post because they're all too cool to be described in one post. Fact.
One thing I noticed about them; their music has been evolving. To me, I opened my arms wide and happy about this evolution because from the beginning, I wasn't interested in their nu metal concept.. at all. But it does hurt...... to see former LP fans spit their comments at them.
'Where's the old Linkin Park?' 'What is this new music, sounds like shit' 'BRING BACK THE OLD LP!!!'
Truly, I have no comment on that. I mean. Okay so you guys don't like the new LP, they are more experimentive and stuff... But can't you just stfu and concentrate on plenty other bands tha
t still deliver the kind of music you guys want? They've grown. They've evolved. These boys.... already know what they want with their life now, so maybe they don't feel like screaming about how they've been pushed down in life. And if you were a true fan... You should've still at least understood what they were going through.
I mean. It was
really depressing seeing the video 'Making of A Thousand Suns". You could see they were really.... pressured. About their music. They write and compose the songs theirselves, and they too had to choose which songs got in the album. It got real intense, reaaally intense. And I was actually thinking of just skipping the whole video :\ (lol, i have a tendency to skip sad/frustrating scenes). But in the end, Chester being the coolest dude of all time, made a short speech. The line I remember the most was
"We gotta choose between doing what we wanna do, and doing what people expect us to do." And at that moment I was just........... Speechless. Fell in love completely.
They work so hard in making their music, and they're so humble. They're famous as fuck but do you ever hear a peep out of them? Naw. Never. 4/6 members are married..... Rob is the only one single, and Joe has a longtime girlfriend. I have so much respect for them, I can't even put to words.
Conclusion: I love them. So much. Even with all their beards and wives and non-sixpack abs <3
